We love our four-legged friends, but due to some unfortunate incidents we must limit dogs visiting the nursery to service animals only. Please enjoy walking your pets on a leash in the shady island adjacent to our parking lot.

At Soares we practice what we preach. Both at the nursery or at home, if there is an insect or disease problem, start with the least toxic solution.  Our philosophy is that if we want to protect our wildlife and bird population – we must have insects and accept some disfigured foliage.

All of the Soares Grown vegetable & herb plants are grown without pesticides of any kind.
Our suppliers’ vegetable and herb plants are grown without synthetic pesticides.

Honestly, crops of young edible plants rarely have any pest or disease problems when grown under optimum conditions in greenhouses.
NO GMOs. They are not available to homeowners or unlicensed growers.
NO NEONICOTINOIDS
NO PESTICIDES are used in the growing of pollinator plants.

Happily we suffer very few disease or insect troubles at the nursery at all especially considering the thousands of plants that pass through. Our surrounding wild areas that support beneficial insects and pollinators help keep us in balance.

A few times each season a particular bug may attack a particular kind of plant and gets treated with an OMRI approved product.
Most of our suppliers have adopted biocontrols for their plant production whenever possible. It’s safer for their staff, their customers, for you and the environment

We offer a variety of plant fertilizers, some synthetic, some organic. The “Tone” family of fertilizers are 95% organic, break down slowly, are low in soluble salts and contain beneficial microbes.

We guarantee that all plants sold by us are true to name. This guarantee is limited to the purchase price of the plant. We offer no guarantee as to the hardiness, growth or performance of any stock we sell, since we have no control over its handling or care after it leaves our nursery, nor any weather conditions to which it may be subjected. The hardiness ratings are based on the U. S. Department of Agriculture Plant Hardiness Map. We are in hardiness zone 6B-7A.

Soares Flower Garden Nursery is proud to be an integral part of our Cape community. We believe that gardening can bring about positive changes in people’s lives and in our neighborhoods so we strive to support garden-related events and community cultivation whenever possible. Each year we are asked to donate to hundreds of worthwhile charitable causes and we make every effort to accommodate as many of these requests as possible.
