Internship Program

Soares is excited to announce the return of the Vegetable Garden Intern Program. This program is designed to give BEGINNING gardeners the opportunity to work with Marte Ayers at our vegetable garden at Soares Flower Garden Nursery on Sandwich Rd for the 2022 season. Marte is a skilled gardener and beekeeper who grew up on a Vermont farm.

Interns will learn vegetable gardening from Mid-April through October. In exchange for your 2 hours a week of volunteer work in the garden, you will take home a weekly harvest basket of produce and flowers.

We have two internship spots available.  Those interested in participating, can submit their name in-person at the nursery (no online registration).  Two names will be draw at random.  The drawing will take place on April 20th. An initial meet and greet of the new interns will take place April 23 to explain the work and make schedules that will work for the interns.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn vegetable and flower growing, Last years interns were amazed at how much they grew and have now taken the skills they learned to use in their own home gardens.
